Three oโclock is seeking an EU project science communications manager mastering high impact communication activities and engagement. Although this position primarily focuses on EU projects, the candidate may be involved in B2B assignments directly with clients.
The candidate will develop communication and dissemination strategies and implement the actions in European projects, primarily relating to the environment, but not only.
In this role, you will work directly with the project coordinator and partners autonomously, implement communication actions, and engage EU-wide stakeholders and policymakers.
We are looking for a motivated, pro-active person who is full of great ideas that can help drive these projects forward and get the job done, with a WOW effect. You must be a team player, self-learner, and have a flexible approach to the role and responsibilities.
Excellent oral and written English is a must, with experience in the environment, climate, energy, and education domains. Fluency in Spanish and/or French are a big plus for the position.

- Managing project social media accounts: weekly publishing and content creation using Canva
- Managing and publishing on project websites (Webflow)
- Writing engaging articles in perfect English
- Setting up and managing editorial calendars in projects
- Preparing content for newsletters, factsheets, posters
- Disseminating outputs and results in creative ways
- Organising and facilitating events and workshops
- Developing and updating communication strategies and high-impact action plans for projects
- Monitoring results and impact evaluation
- Effectively communicating and working closely with project partners
- In depth stakeholder mapping, including identifying expectations and gaps to develop effective messaging
- Designing targeted actions to reach specific audiences
- Drafting tailored briefs
- The candidate will also contribute to drafting communication and dissemination plans in tenders for new projects, writing work packages and tasks.
WHAT YOU NEED ๐
- 6+ years of experience in science communications, of which at least 4+ years working in European collaborative research and innovation projects (H2020 and Horizon Europe programmes, Erasmus+, INTERREG) is mandatory.
- Degree in communication, marketing, or journalism. We also love people with technical backgrounds who have pivoted to communications. Engineers, scientists, architects are more than welcome to apply if you have proven experience in communications and outreach.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including communities, organizations, and individuals.
- Ability to manage priorities across multiple functional areas and teams in a self-directed way.
- Have a system and growth-oriented mind, continuously looking to improve the way we do things.
- Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to synthesize and communicate ideas.
- Skills in design is a pre-requisite: you should be able to design engaging visuals with Canva, edit short videos, and follow trends.
- Willingness to travel and ability to work autonomously.

- Build networks and manage trusted relationships and strong communities of practice among diverse stakeholders, including academia, research organisations, industry, NGOs, policymakers, and citizens
- Develop engagement strategies and collaborative formats (labs, hubs, knowledge centres) to empower stakeholders and provide them with the necessary tools and knowledge to tackle climate-related issues
- Communicate and disseminate project results and progress to target audiences through digital and traditional channels
- Draft strong and engaging messages to promote and raise awareness of climate-related issues
- Perform user/stakeholder research to identify challenges, gaps and opportunities
